Stage 2 - Canberra Jury Study
During stage two of the research juror eligible persons were shown a 30 minute video of a mock trial. They completed a questionnaire, developed in stage one and refined. This experiment was conducted in June/July 2007 at the University of Canberra. The films were made with assistance from the partners, particularly the AFP, and produced by Greg Battye (UC) with technical and creative support from Sam Hinton (UC). The interactive visual evidence for both trials was produced in Canberra, with the AFP producing a panoscan of a home invasion and Sam Hinton managing the production of a computer simulation of a train bombing. The final courtroom drama was shown with 3 major variations to each scenario so that factors influencing juror judgements could be separately identified and measured.
